Throughout her career, Dr Loreto Jackson, an exercise physiologist and wellness change agent has created impactful and sustainable programs and initiatives related to wellbeing and performance for students, faculty, staff, coaches and their enterprises at three major universities (Delaware, Miami (FL), and Clemson) and two community colleges (Ft. Pierce and Boston).
A native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, Loreto recently returned to Clemson with her husband Chris Ip (former Clemson University Swim Coach). Loreto first came to Clemson in 2003 where she ran her private practice as a wellness consultant. In 2005, Clemson Athletics appointed Loreto to create and run a holistic and integrated system of student-athlete care, wellbeing, performance, and development – the first of its kind in NCAA Division I institutions nationally.
After the 2016 football national championship, Loreto moved to Rhode Island and served as the Director of Athletics (and interim Dean of Academic Affairs) at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, MA. Loreto currently consults on personal and enterprise wellness and wellbeing.
