Anne grew up in Charleston, SC and attended high school at Ashley Hall. She went on to graduate from Clemson with a bachelor degree in education and then received a masters degree in reading from Furman. Beginning in the public school system in Greenville, SC for 6 years before moving to Charlotte to teach for 2 years. Anne began a 36 year career at Providence Day School, beginning as a kindergarten teacher and finishing as a reading specialist. Along the way, she became trained in the Orton Gillingham approach to reading (a multisensory approach aimed at helping children with specific reading challenges). Anne was a gifted reading tutor for 15 years and retired in June of 2023 making the full-time move to Clemson
Outside of teaching, she was the volunteer coordinator of the gift shop at our church as well as a leader there. She enjoys reading, gardening, and college sports.
She is married to Mark and we have 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law.
